Michelle grew up in a family of gem dealers and was trained as an artist before launching her signature brand and business in 1998. She has been designing unique jewelry collections for couture and mass production, incorporating gemstones, pearls, diamonds, and precious metals into wearable art, for over 20 years. Her work is inspired by her extensive exposure to the diversity of world cultures and nature's colors and forms, and is rooted in her training as an artist and her lifelong experience in the jewelry and gemstones business. Her signature lines have been featured on live TV as part of ShopNBC, Shop HQ, JTV, Australian TVSN, and TSC. Michelle hosts her own shows, which have generated over 1-3 million in sales per year, over 20 million views and sales exceeding $150,000 per hour.​

Michelle studied painting, sculpture and jewelry design at the California College for the Arts. Her sculptures were exhibited at the San Francisco MOMA and her paintings have been sold in group and solo shows around California. Her work is currently in private collections around the world. One of her early pieces won the 2000 Tahitian Pearl Trophy Award for black South Sea pearl jewelry design, and a year later was named one of the top 100 international jewelry designers.

The highest level of quality and craftsmanship is an essential part of Michelle's design philosophy. She has traveled to more than thirty countries searching for the perfect stones for her designs, and is intimately involved in every step of the design process: personally selecting the gems and pearls, through sample making to final production. Her decades of experience working with top jewelry craftsmen in New York and Israel ensure that each piece is a wearable sculpture, flawless from every angle.
